Vancouver Real Estate Market Update - October 2024
October was a big month for Vancouver real estate! Sales shot up 31.9% compared to last year and an impressive 42% from September. After three interest rate cuts, the market is finally bouncing back.
We saw 5,452 new homes listed for sale, but that’s 10% less than in September. With more people buying and fewer homes for sale, the market is getting tighter. The time it would take to sell all the homes on the market—called months of inventory—dropped from 8.6 to 5.5 months.
Condos were super popular, with sales jumping 48%. But even with all this action, overall prices fell just a little, down 0.6%.
As we see demand ramping up, this is the perfect time to put your home on the market. Inventory is shrinking, and serious buyers are eager to find their next home before a wave of new listings hits the market next year.
